Medical School Advisory Board Member
Description
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our Medical School Advisory Board, a panel of 12-15 experts who will play a crucial role in shaping the future of medical education. As a board member, you will contribute your expertise to guide the development of level 3 certificates and diplomas, advise on pre-medical school content, and ensure that aspiring medical students are well-prepared for their journey into medical school.
Location: Liverpool
Time Commitment: 1-2 days per year (voluntary)
Role-specific responsibilities
1. Content Advisory
- Provide valuable insights and recommendations on the content of level 3 certificates and diplomas.
- Review and enhance content delivered to pre-med students during the summer to ensure it aligns with the latest developments in the medical field.
3. Student Preparation
- Advise on strategies to best prepare and perform in interviews for medical school admission.
- Ensure that students are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their medical education.
5. Literature and Branding
- Partner with universities and prominently feature their names in literature to enhance credibility and recognition.
- Contribute to the creation of promotional materials that highlight the advisory board’s role in shaping the success of medical students.
2. Admissions Process Updates
- Keep students informed about updates in the medical school admissions process.
- Work closely with educational institutions to stay abreast of changes in admission criteria and requirements.
4. Vetting and Partnerships
- Collaborate with universities to vet potential medical students before they apply, ensuring the selection of qualified candidates.
- Establish and nurture relationships with individual professionals within medical schools to foster collaboration and partnership.
6. Networking
- Actively build and maintain relationships with individuals working within medical schools, fostering a network that supports the goals of the advisory board.
- Leverage connections to stay informed about industry trends, innovations, and opportunities for collaboration.
Person Specification
Essential
- Significant experience in the medical field, preferably with a focus on medical education or admissions
- In-depth knowledge of the medical school admissions process and curriculum development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team
- Passion for mentoring and supporting aspiring medical professionals.
Desirable
