How Our Bootcamps Work
Our bootcamps run over ten days, combining intensive practical sessions with essential theoretical concepts. Each day is structured to maximise your learning, featuring interactive workshops and real-world applications. You’ll complete guided learning hours, engage in collaborative projects, and participate in assessments to track your progress. Upon completion, you’ll receive a certificate that validates your new skills and enhances your CV. Plus, our dedicated support team is here to assist you even after the bootcamp, offering guidance on job applications and interview preparation.
What Do BioGrad's Courses Cover?
BioGrad’s courses offer a comprehensive blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, focusing on essential laboratory techniques. Participants will engage in hands-on activities such as Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), Gel Electrophoresis, Microbiology Techniques, Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA), Western Blotting, and Cell Culture Techniques. Am I Eligible?
Our skills bootcamps cater to a diverse range of participants. You must be at least 19 years old, have the right to work in the UK, meet residency requirements, and live in England. Additionally, you should not be currently enrolled in any other formal education, including another Skills Bootcamp.
Whether you’re a graduate seeking practical lab experience or a professional wanting to refresh your knowledge, you’re welcome to apply. Our programmes are also ideal for those returning to work after a break or transitioning from another field. If you’re passionate about science and eager to learn, we invite you to join us!
Funding
Our skills bootcamps are government-sponsored programmes, supported by local authorities. This means courses can be fully funded or co-funded by organisations for their employees, making high-quality training accessible.

Skills Bootcamp FAQs
Our skills bootcamp course runs for a total of 10 days, held Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM, with a one-hour lunch break each day. To qualify for funding, candidates must complete all 10 days of the course.

You can participate in only one bootcamp per wave of funding, which runs from April to April. This policy ensures that we can support a diverse group of learners and provide everyone with the opportunity to benefit from our programmes. Yes, this course is designed to significantly enhance your employability in the scientific sector. Yes, parking is available free of charge at our Wavertree Technology Park site, located at 61 Stephenson Way, Liverpool L13 1HN. However, please note that parking is not provided at our Liverpool Science Park site at 131 Mount Pleasant, Liverpool L3 5TF.
For those attending the Liverpool Science Park location, there are several paid parking areas within walking distance, including the Mount Pleasant Car Park at 38 Mount Pleasant, Liverpool L3 5TB.

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes for your time in our skills bootcamp courses. This will ensure you can move freely and safely throughout your activities.
Please note that some of our laboratories are temperature-controlled to 19 degrees Celsius (66 degrees Fahrenheit). To stay comfortable, we suggest bringing warm clothing, such as a light sweater or jacket.
No, you don’t need to bring any equipment or purchase additional software. We provide all necessary tools, software, and materials, including access to any specialised programmes used in training. Just bring your enthusiasm and readiness to learn!
Yes, you can! Biograd Education’s skills bootcamp courses are designed to help train company staff to upskill and take on additional responsibilities. Upon your submission, please include your employer’s and line manager’s contact information, and a member of our team will reach out with the relevant information.
