We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our Medical School Advisory Board, a panel of 12-15 experts who will play a crucial role in shaping the future of medical education. As a board member, you will contribute your expertise to guide the development of level 3 certificates and diplomas, advise on pre-medical school content, and ensure that aspiring medical students are well-prepared for their journey into medical school.
Location: Liverpool
Time Commitment: 1-2 days per year (voluntary)
Role-specific responsibilities
1. Content Advisory
Provide valuable insights and recommendations on the content of level 3 certificates and diplomas.
Review and enhance content delivered to pre-med students during the summer to ensure it aligns with the latest developments in the medical field.
3. Student Preparation
Advise on strategies to best prepare and perform in interviews for medical school admission.
Ensure that students are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their medical education.
5. Literature and Branding
Partner with universities and prominently feature their names in literature to enhance credibility and recognition.
Contribute to the creation of promotional materials that highlight the advisory board’s role in shaping the success of medical students.
2. Admissions Process Updates
Keep students informed about updates in the medical school admissions process.
Work closely with educational institutions to stay abreast of changes in admission criteria and requirements.
4. Vetting and Partnerships
Collaborate with universities to vet potential medical students before they apply, ensuring the selection of qualified candidates.
Establish and nurture relationships with individual professionals within medical schools to foster collaboration and partnership.
6. Networking
Actively build and maintain relationships with individuals working within medical schools, fostering a network that supports the goals of the advisory board.
Leverage connections to stay informed about industry trends, innovations, and opportunities for collaboration.
Person Specification
Essential
Significant experience in the medical field, preferably with a focus on medical education or admissions
In-depth knowledge of the medical school admissions process and curriculum development
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team
Passion for mentoring and supporting aspiring medical professionals.
Desirable
Prior experience serving on advisory boards or committees
Familiarity with the latest trends and innovations in medical education
